Prayer to be criminalised in Scotland

A new bill proposes criminalising prayer in designated ‘buffer zones’ around abortion clinics in Scotland, including inside private homes within a 200m zone. Please visit rcpolitics.org/buffer-zones for more information on what you can do to stop this disproportionate and intolerant law being introduced.  Please respond to the parliament consultation which ends on 20 December.

The Bishops’ Conference of Scotland have prepared a briefing paper which can be accessed below.

BRIEFING: ABORTION SERVICES (SAFE ACCESS ZONES) (SCOTLAND) BILL

You are encouraged to voice your concerns to your MSPs about the Bill. A draft letter is provided in the briefing paper which could be used in making a response.
