As part of our preparation for Christmas I warmly invite you to our Advent Service. The bishop has granted permission for Rite Three of the Sacrament of Penance to be celebrated, which includes General Absolution. It is important to be properly prepared and come with a proper disposition asking God’s mercy, acknowledging our sins and with a firm resolve to amend our ways. For those who receive General Absolution and may be aware of serious sin, they should have recourse to individual confession at the earliest possible opportunity. As Catholics we should on a daily basis make a good Act of Contrition:
Oh My God because Thou are so good, I am very sorry for having offended Thee and by the help of Your Grace I will not sin again. Amen
